Finding a way to express more joy in our lives, we discovered that creating paintings of cats and dogs did just that! It brought joy to us during the entire creative process. Sharing these paintings with others is our way of adding lightness and humor to the world.
These magical little creatures are our best friends, our companions, our teachers, even our children, reminding us to stay in the present moment and not take life too seriously.
Everyone has treasured stories of a furry friend. May these paintings bring those to stories to mind. We look forward to having you share those stories with us during the Artist reception.
Don’t miss this fun and playful exhibit!
______________________
Padgett's love of cats goes back to memories of her grandfather and his beloved furry friends. Now, the mother of three rescue kitties, she has models for her whimsical paintings readily available (though not necessarily always willing!).
Sally Mather, known for her landscape paintings, has taken on the challenge of painting dog portraits. Sally, whose father was a veterinarian, grew up with a menagerie of animals. Although she loved her goldfish, Goldie, dogs have always held a special place in her heart.
Sally is represented by Gallery 150 in Salida, Colorado.
